Once Upon a Night
High above a quiet village, where lanterns glowed like tiny fireflies, lived a little star named Luna. Every evening, Luna peeked out from behind soft, cottony clouds, eager to share her light with the world below.
The Lonely Lantern
Down in the village square stood a small lantern called Pip. Pip glowed bravely each night, but his flame was very flickery. When children ran by, they sometimes stumbled in the shadows and never stopped to admire Pip’s gentle glow.
A Spark of Friendship
One clear night, Luna noticed Pip shivering with every breeze. She whispered through the sky, “Friend Pip, lend me your glow tonight!”
Pip’s little flame grew bright with surprise. As Luna’s starlight sprinkled down, the lantern glowed stronger than ever—warm, steady, and golden. The children paused in their games, marveling at the beautiful light glowing just for them.
A Gift Returned
When dawn neared, Luna’s light had to slip away. Pip felt the breeze cool his flame. He worried, “What if I can’t shine without her?”
Just then, Pip gathered every bit of warmth he had and sent it skyward, glowing a soft orange that drifted up into the clouds. High above, Luna felt the gentle warmth on her points and smiled.
Sharing Light and Warmth
That night—and every night after—Luna shared her starlight, and Pip shared his warmth. Together, they made the village square a place of wonder: children danced under soft golden rays, and parents told bedtime stories by their glow.
The Lesson
When we share what we have—our light, our warmth, or our kindness—we help everyone shine a little brighter.
